Meet Tony!

Meet Tony, The Watt Shop owner/operator. Tony purchased the 51 Speed Shop (Indianapolis) studio from Dave “Rip” Ripley in February, 2021. Prior to changing the name of the studio in May, 2021, Tony trained under Rip in the philosophy of bicycle fitting. Tony was trained on the GURU Dynamic Fit Unit and Range of Right. He continues to use that system for all disciplines of cycling.
Tony quickly discovered the need to gain certifications in bicycle maintenance in order to assist athletes with a full circle service after discovery from the bike fit process. In February, 2022 he traveled to the U of Q Institute, located in Colorado Springs, CO. While attending the Institute, Tony was certified in Bicycle Assembly & Maintenance and Professional Bicycle Service. Since returning from Colorado, Tony development a service station that is outfitted mainly with Park Tool bicycle tools for all repairs, component installations, bike builds and tune-ups.
Tony has always had a passion for bicycles that span from his teenage years of racing BMX and his attempt at freestyle for fun. Over the years, Tony remained an avid cyclist until the discovery of endurance racing. What began simply as running his first Indy Mini Marathon expanded into becoming a multi finisher IRONMAN. When he began his journey into long course triathlon, Tony was introduced to Rip at 51 Speed Shop. Since that day in May 2017, Tony has understood the importance of bike fit and being comfortable while being able to produce power for an extended amount of time in the saddle. Going from an athlete with a dream to now being able to be part of the reason dreams and goals are accomplished on a bicycle is very gratifying to Tony.
Tony continues to train and race long course triathlon with aspirations to also get into gravel racing in the future. He looks forward to being able to be part of your team to help you accomplish your goals on your bicycle. Rather it being exercise or racing, everyone should be comfortable and enjoy cycling.
